Is Cheas

Arranged in the gardens are12 individual Pinnettas which replicate ancient cone-shaped pastoral houses typical in Sardinia. They have been designed with all the modern comforts but made with local and environmentally friendly materials including basalt stone walls, wooden vaulted ceilings, thatched roofs and thermal and acoustic insulation is guaranteed by the use of Sardinian sheep wool that gives guests the right atmosphere for natural rest. Each Suite has a different interior design with handcrafted ceramics, fabrics and paintings. 

All the suites have double bed, en suite shower room, WiFi, air conditioning, minibar and towels for the pool. They all have their own private pool and garden (pools can be heated in low season only). 

There are 4 types of Pinnettas: 
Sa Azulu Deluxe Lodge (27m ² , sleeping 2) double bedroom with en suite shower room and a 45m ²  private garden with a 5m ²  pool and views of the vineyard.

Sa Birde Junior Suite (37m ² , sleeping up to 4) suitable for a couple or a small family with 1 double and up to 2 single beds (on request), en suite shower room, 80m ²  private garden with 20m ²  pool and views of the vineyard and pool. (Suitable for people with mobility difficulties.)

Sa Grogu Superior Lodge (37m ² , sleeping up to 4) suitable for a couple or a family with 1 double and 1 single bed plus room for an extra single bed or cot (on request), en suite shower room, 80m ²  private garden with 20m ²  pool and view of the vineyard and pool.

S'Arrubia Family Lodge  (40m ² , sleeping up to 5) with double bed, 2 single beds, and room for a cot, en suite with large shower, 130m ²  private garden with 20m ²  pool and view of the vineyard and pool.

Two Farm House Suites are located in the main farmhouse on the estate alongside the reception and restaurant, all of which are surrounded by vineyards and overlook the pool. The Farm House Suites include reserved deckchairs around the pool.

Isabela Farm House Suite(35m ² , sleeping up to 3) perfect for couples or small families of up to 3 people (over the age of 10) with a spacious bedroom with queen bed and single bed (on request), walk-in closet and en suite shower room. 

Little Farm House Suite(18m ² , sleeping 2) the smallest yet cosiest suite perfect for couples with a queen bed and en suite shower room.

Is Cheas Lodges(120sqm, sleeping 2-4) with private pool and garden: New for 2024, designed by world-famous G&U Architects Studio and a team of local experts to be eco-friendly and powered by solar energy, the attractive lodges feature natural colours of sand, wood and straw, the internal suite 40sqm, garden area 60sqm and private pool (heated in low season) 20sqm. All the lodges have Queen bed + 2 single beds (cot on request), en suite shower room with bathrobe & slippers, air conditioning, fridge bar, WiFi, safe, pool towels, garden with table and chairs. 

Located at the boundary between two distinct territories, Sinis and Montiferru, both rich in tradition and history, the philosophy of Is Cheas kitchen is ‘territory, seasonality and first rate ingredients’.

Is Cheas Restaurant is surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of the pool and vineyards and offers guests a buffet breakfast daily including local delicacies and a 4 course dinner menu carefully designed by the chefs using products from the farm combined with local, seafood, fish and meat.

The Cottage Pool Bar is open every day at lunchtime (1pm-3pm) surrounded by the vineyards and serving organic salads, local cheese, gourmet sandwiches, fish and fresh fruits in the pool area plus aperitifs, cocktails and smoothies. (Lunch and drinks are not included in the half board rate.)

In the evenings, guest can experience magical moments enjoying the colours of sunsets while sipping an aperitif or local wine at the Cottage Pool Bar.

In the gardens, there is a lovely swimming pool and terrace with sunbeds and gazebos for shade. The small wellness centre offers guests massages and beauty treatments using local essential oils (extra cost).

Is Cheas farm surrounds the property and Juan Carlos, one of the owners, a viticulture and enologist, offers a Wine Tour & Tasting when guests can discover the vinification process to produce high quality Sardinian wines which are served in the restaurant. The estate also cultivate mushrooms and organic vegetables. 

Juan Carlos also hosts horse riding experiences and there are tailor-made cooking classes with the resident chefs (extra cost).

The staff can organise excursions including trips to the local beaches and picturesque villages, boat trips and 4x4 trips and trekking in the surrounding countryside (extra cost).

Is Cheas has been built using only eco-friendly materials and uses renewable energy like solar or biomass, that produce next to no CO ₂ emissions.

Is Cheas is located near San Vero Milis in the north west of the Campidano, a geographic area characterized by an extraordinary variety of ecosystems between the countryside, the lagoon and the sea with more than 20km of coastline.

The country lanes are surrounded by olive groves and vineyards reminiscent of the agro-pastoral roots of this ancient and legendary territory. Between the field and the sea are the wetlands of great environmental importance with rare species of migratory birds and flamingos.

The bay of Is Arenas has a long 6km beach and Is Arenas Golf Club has an 18 hole course within the natural sand dunes, creating one of the most stunning courses in Europe. Also nearby is the Vernaccia wine producing region and Milis where some of the best oranges are grown in Sardinia.

In this area you will find many Nuraghi, ancient constructions of the Nuragic time including S’Uraki, one of the biggest of the island that is only 700m from Is Cheas.

Is Cheas is located 15km north of Oristano on the central west coast of Sardinia immersed in a natural oasis in the Sinis countryside with vast lagoons with flocks of pink flamingos, imposing and mysterious traces of the past inhabitants, magnificent medieval buildings and ancient Romanesque churches.

This remarkably unexplored corner of Sardinia offers a rich landscape of cultivated fields and beautiful beaches such as Is Arutas, Putzu Idu, Mari Ermi and Sa Rocca. The Protected Marine Area and Mal di Ventre Island is a paradise for diving, bird watching and hiking, biking and canoeing. 

Located on the northern promontory of the Gulf of Oristano are the ruins of Tharros, a Phoenician-Roman port city that was abandoned in the year 1000 AD.
